Is it true, am I BLUE?

Recently while visiting Deborah's blog I took a color-test. You know what I'm talking about, one of those tests used by pchychologists to tell you what kind of personality you have. Well, I took it and I came out Blue. I was pretty surprised and well, honestly I had felt like I received an A on a test when I knew I should have gotten a C. If your a little confused let me explain. This nice test said I'm blue because it's the most soothing shade of the spectrum, and that others are calmed by my "soothing presence". Recently with my due date less than a week away and our home still in the process of being put together, I'm far from a soothing influence (ask Paul). Last night my insanity reached a new level as I explained to Paul (I really don't deserve him), that I could not relax and be ready for the baby until everything was hung up and in its place on the walls. This included my Pottery Barn sconces which we had previously given up on because our walls are made of CONCRETE. I justify my neuroses by saying its the overload of pregnancy hormones, and my need to "nest" before the baby comes-but, in reality I think I'm just crazy. ))Take the test and see what you think. I thought Deborah's outcome was spot on (it said she was orange), but if your receive an outcome that is a little off -let me know.

On a lighter note, two days ago I passed my German Drivers Test! This is a big relief as its a very hard test, and I didn't want to worry about it later on when the baby comes. This good news came at a perfect time because my car had just gotten in from the port. Now comes the fun part, finding my way around!

Happy Day, The Ships Come In!

Yesterday, our goods from the states came in and Paul and I couldn't be more happy. We had found out at 4pm the night before, so to say the least we didn't have allot of time to prepare. With little notice the base FMO (Furnishings Management Office) wasn't able to pick up our loaner furniture until next week. This meant we would have goofy looking loaner furniture (think the dentist office waiting room) along with all of our own stuff. This didn't make me happy, and as a crazy pregnant wife who has just wanted a nice looking home (after being here for over a month with nothing, the prospects of having one is pretty exciting), I was set on taking care of the situation. So instead of leaving the loaner furniture downstairs (like Paul suggested) I convinced my WONDERFUL husband that we should store them in the third floor extra bedroom! We expected the movers to come between 8 and 9 am, so Paul and I were up bright and early moving furniture. At this point I thought, if this doesn't induce pregnancy-I don't know what will. Well after waiting and waiting (and cancelling my European drivers test in the morning) and then more waiting (and then having to cancel my OB apt. in the afternoon) the movers finally came!
Last night I was teaching a class at RS Enrichment and so I couldn't spend the night unpacking. As a result, I woke up early this morning (I felt like a child on Christmas morning) ready to unpack my things! Soon I will be able to relax knowing that if I go into labor (we have a little over a week until the due date) we will actually have a FUNCTIONING home to bring our little guy to (along with a car seat and a crib!).

New Years in the Swiss Alps

Afer visiting France we decided the perfect place to spend New Years Eve was in Switzerland. We stayed in Interlachen Switzerland(it came highly reccommended by friends), and were surrounded by some of the most beautiful alps. The first picture was a view taken from our hotel window.

Colmar, Colmar and more Colmar

We loved Colmar so much we thought we'd share some more pictures with you. As you can see, Colmar was decorated to the brim for the holidays. Even days after Christmas (when we arrived) Christmas markets were in full swing and carols could be heard playing in the distance. Paul and I stepped inside one of their larger cathedrals and were able to enjoy a little bit of a holiday organ concert. As I walked around this magical little city, I had almost forgot that Christmas had already come and gone.

Frohe Weihnachten from Colmar!

After leaving Metz in Lorraine we traveled to the Alsacian city of Colmar. This city combined the wonderful cuisine of France with the fairy tale architecture of Germany. Colmar was cozy and just the perfect place to wander around and browse local shops. Paul and I decided that this was definately one of our favorite French cities. Hopefully we can share it with some of you!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. Paul and I enjoyed Christmas dinner and games with a family in our new ward, and then attended a squadron Christmas party later on that evening. As none of our belongings from the states had come and there was nothing keeping us home, we decided to do some traveling on Pauls 4 days off. First we drove to the French city of Metz, located about an hour from us in the Lorraine region.
